The first one is passing a learner permit test and then passing the hazard perception test and then a Probationary Licence will be issued after passing the driving test. Secondly, with overseas licenses, a licence will have to be verified by Vic Roads if it is from the non-recognized country. Then the hazard perception test and after passing drive test student will get a full Victorian driving license.

There are 3 steps involved to get your Probationary Licence

1.Learner Test: Read Road to Solo Driving Handbook and Practice Learner permit test

After passing the Learner permit test you will be issued Learner Licence and logbook if you are under 21.

2.Hazard Perception  Test: It is a computer-based test. A score of 54% or more is required to pass the test. Drive Smart program helps you to practice your skills and become a safer driver.

3.Drive Test: The drive test checks to see if you are ready to drive safely on your own with other traffic. You must pass the driving test to get a Victorian driver’s license.
